Ceramic creations from an intensive ceramic design course. The final product is a set of vessels for plants: a propagation unit, various sizes of plant pots, a vase and 2 watering cans.
From having never touched the pottery wheel before to throwing cups, bowls, planters and more, it was a really tough but rewarding experience to have made all that I did in the end. The watering cans were especially difficult; recreating the long spout of watering cans—typically made of metal or plastic—meant I faced so many difficult obstacles throughout the entire process. With clay, it is so hard to be in control at every stage of the production and this project taught me to really let go and embrace the outcome. While some things turned out better than I ever could have designed, some didn't and that's okay! Above all else, I learned that that's part of the beauty of working with a medium and process like ceramics.
